Substance abuse is Colorado’s most prevalent, complex, costly and untreated public health challenge. It is an issue that affects hundreds of thousands of Coloradans of all ages, races, ethnicity, income levels and backgrounds living in big and small communities, rural areas, suburbs and cities. Talking with those around us about alcohol and other substances can help prevent those disorders, avoid diseases and injuries, improve family and work life, and promote overall well-being. By practicing with our virtual human, Jordan, you’ll learn how to navigate conversations about substance use. The All-In Colorado app is a simulation that lets you take on the role of a concerned coworker and practice talking about alcohol and other substances before you have those conversations in real life.

The use of alcohol and other substances can impact workplace safety and productivity in a big way. Studies show that workers with alcohol issues were 2.7 times more likely to have injury-related absences. In emergency departments, 35% of patients with an occupational injury were at-risk drinkers. A large federal survey shows that 24% of workers report drinking during the workday at least once in the past year and one-fifth of workers and managers across a wide range of industries and company sizes report that a coworker’s on- or off-the-job drinking jeopardized their own productivity and safety.

Each of us can empower others to make small changes that can have a big impact on their lives. Download the All-In Colorado App to practice conversations and transform the way we talk about alcohol and other substances.

All-In Colorado is a program of Peer Assistance Services, Inc. and funded by the Office of Behavioral Health. The app was developed in collaboration with Kognito.
